Six live apps — white-label home healthcare, end-to-end.

A digital health company in Australia came to us with a vision: white-label software that lets aged-care providers stand up branded apps for patients, carers, and family networks. We rebuilt the platform from scratch, then stayed for 5+ years. Six apps have launched on this foundation.

The challenge

Three problems — all at once.

The previous codebase and design were outdated — the platform needed a full rebuild before it could support white-labeling at scale.

Original UX lacked thoughtful user flow. Navigation was ambiguous. No specification existed for developers to work against — the engagement had to start with discovery, not delivery.

Five distinct user roles (Captain, Admin, Helper, Inner-Circle Helper, Network) each needed differentiated access and workflow — a non-trivial permissions model on top of a chat, calendar, task, and risk-assessment system.

The platform had to scale on demand for multiple white-label tenants while preserving smooth UX for each branded deployment.

What we did

Seven specific things.

  • 01Discovery: reviewed existing UX, developed detailed user flow, defined MVP scope, composed full specification — the missing artifact the previous engagement never produced
  • 02Tested 10 UI versions with UX validation before committing to the final direction — design iterated against user behavior, not assumptions
  • 03Built mobile apps in React Native (iOS + Android) plus a web dashboard for organization-level administration
  • 04Implemented role-based access for five user types — Captain (network owner), Admin, Helper, Inner-Circle Helper, and the broader Helper Network of family and friends
  • 05Shipped risk-assessment (PROM) flows with targeted education and intervention triggers based on patient responses
  • 06Built chat with attachments, calendar with task management, and integrations to make care-coordination work in one place (Twilio, SendGrid, Socket.io)
  • 07Published to App Store and Google Play; transitioned to long-term support model with continuing updates based on user feedback
